Mohammed Fadla, 38, homeless and on the run, has pleaded guilty to attempted murder after a savage assault on a friend in Streatham. The attack took place on 23 July 2018 at a flat on Streatham Vale, where the victim was asleep in bed when Fadla launched a relentless axe assault.
Victim Survives Horrific Injuries
The victim miraculously survived, despite multiple deep cuts to his head and nearly losing an ear. His roommate watched in horror as Fadla struck the victim repeatedly with the axe.
Attack Witness Flees to Call Police as Attacker Escapes
Witnessing the brutal beating, the victim’s roommate fled the flat and flagged down a passer-by to ring the police. Meanwhile, Fadla fled in a van where he was living, later asking a stranger to call police and arrange his surrender.
Fadla Claims Mental Health Issues, Sentencing Looms
Fadla claims he has no memory of the attack due to multiple mental health problems. He is set to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on 9 August 2019.
