Two people charged with murder following Dover death
A man and woman face murder charges after a body was discovered in Dover. On Tuesday 1 October 2019 Kent Police was called to Cowgate Cemetery in Albany Place at around 7am where the body of Piotr Lacheta was found. Officers along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the area where the 55-year-old had suffered injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people were arrested and detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched a murder investigation. On Thursday 3 October 2019 the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder against Claire Lunn, 47 and Justin Burnett, 37, of no fixed address. They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Friday 4 October 2019. Detective Chief Inspector Gavin Moss at Kent Police said: ‘We are still seeking witnesses and ask anyone with information to come forward as we continue with our enquiries.
