CCTV and dashcam footage sought following reported rape in Rochester

Detectives investigating the reported rape of a woman in Rochester are appealing for CCTV and dash cam footage. The incident happened in The Vines, off Crow Lane, between 2.30am and 4am on Sunday 24 November 2019. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was walking through the park with a man, when he is reported to have raped her. Investigators have recovered some CCTV, but are specifically appealing for footage from CCTV and doorbell cameras at private address and businesses in The Vines, St. Margaret’s Street, Troy Town and Delce areas between 2.30am and 4am. They also want to hear from any motorists with dash cam footage who were driving through the area between these times. Anyone who may have footage in The Vines, St Margaret’s Street, Troy Town and Delce areas between 2.30am and 4am, or anybody with information concerning the incident should contact Kent Police on 01634 792 209, quoting crime reference 24-0212. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111 or completing the online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org On Sunday 24 November 2019, a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and was later bailed to return to the police station on 16 December.
