Harrow Drug Gang Busted: Five Jailed for Heroin and Crack Supply

Gangsters Caught in Covert Sting

Five men pleaded guilty at Harrow Crown Court and received hefty prison sentences for conspiracy to supply class A drugs – heroin and crack cocaine. Abdulla Abdulla, 27, from Masefield Avenue, got the longest sentence at nine years and five months. Abdigani Mohammed, 34, from 1 Drive, received six years and seven months, plus an extra sentence of one year and three months for dangerous driving. He’s also banned from driving for over five years.

Zakariah Bani, 21, of Tithe Barn Way, and Said Hussain, 21, from Stonegrove, were both handed six years and seven months, and six years and five months respectively. Darren Farmer, 43, from Belsize Road, was locked up for five years and ten months.

Operation Balashikha: How Police Cracked the Case

Specialist Crime Officers launched Operation Balashikha in May 2019 after intelligence pointed to a class A drug ring in Harrow. After months of undercover work, the gang’s network was exposed.

On 23 September 2019, officers spotted Abdulla and Mohammed in a vehicle on Church Road, Stanmore. When police tried to stop them, the pair fled on foot but were nabbed after a short chase. A search uncovered £cash and 10 wraps of heroin plus 11 wraps of crack cocaine hidden in the car’s passenger door.

Phone Data and Raids Lead to Arrests

Police then analysed mobile phone records, linking all five men to the drug supply operation. The very next day, warrants were executed at the homes of Hussain, Farmer, and Bani, leading to their arrest.

“Each one of these men had a function in this criminal drug line,” said Detective Inspector Tom Pearse. “We know drugs fuel much of the violent crime here, so busting these lines is key to making our streets safer. I thank all officers involved and urge locals to report any drug dealing in their area.”

Earlier Assault Conviction for Another Man

Meanwhile, a sixth man arrested with Abdulla and Mohammed on 23 September 2019 was sentenced earlier for assaulting an emergency worker. He received 12 weeks in prison at Harrow Crown Court on 18 April 2020.
