David Haye made life a misery for Emmerdale star Adam Thomas on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and now Adam has revealed he’s in therapy after the torment. But don’t expect Haye to show any sympathy. In a no-holds-barred chat with The Sun, the boxing legend bragged about “breaking” Adam – and didn’t hold back on the digs.
£20,000 a Day to Tough It Out? Haye’s Not Impressed
Haye slammed Adam’s struggles by saying: “If that’s what breaks him, obviously it means he comes from a very soft, padded lifestyle.” He added: “It’s probably £20,000-£25,000 per day for being in that jungle. So to get up and do some trial or whatever, how is that hard?” Ouch! That’s a jaw-dropping payday for jungle antics.
Therapy? Haye Says Adam Needs Push-Ups
Adam has sought therapy after his tough time in the jungle, but Haye dismissed it outright: “He doesn’t need therapy. He needs to do some push-ups. He needs to get out there and get in amongst other powerful males, who do stuff and don’t sit there talking all the goddamned time about how hard life is.” Classic Haye, always ready to throw shade. It’s worth noting that Adam battles psoriatic arthritis, a painful condition that could explain both his physical and mental challenges. Still, Haye’s point stands – when you’re making £20k+ a day on TV, you’d better hustle.
Haye’s Savage Jungle One-Liners
- On Adam skipping a trial, feeling dehydrated: “Stop whining about dehydration. You ain’t done sh** since you’ve been here.“
- On Adam’s illness excuses: “Coincidentally, whenever there is something to do, he feels unwell. I don’t like useless guys. He is.“
- To supporters of Adam: “He’s a grown ass man… Who gives a s***.“
- Mocking Adam calling the jungle “the hardest thing he’s ever been through”:
“I’ve been immersed in tough boxing gyms since I was ten years old. Literally fighting daily, much bigger men than myself, pushing myself to the limits, physically and mentally. I won the world heavyweight championship against a seven-foot Russian giant. When a grown man tells me that a fun TV show – where we’re being paid handsomely every single day – is the hardest thing he’s ever been through, it’s just not a frequency I recognise.”
David Haye’s brutal jungle antics have certainly left a mark on Adam Thomas – whether it’s trauma or therapy is another matter entirely.
