Violent arrest after 911 call at UMass hotel
Officers from UMass Amherst Police rushed to Hotel UMass just before 8pm Wednesday following an emergency 911 call. Upon arrival, MacDonald violently resisted arrest, throwing objects and punching an officer in the face multiple times before being subdued.
Wife found dead with severe injuries
Inside room 413, police discovered 31-year-old Emma MacDonald’s lifeless body. Investigators reported her death involved severe injuries consistent with a savage assault. According to official documents, Jeffrey admitted using his hands, feet, and other objects to beat her — and confessed he meant to kill.
Trial set after shocking plea
- MacDonald worked as a chef at UMass Amherst, where his wife was also employed.
- He pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to charges of murder and assaulting a police officer.
- Remanded without bail, he faces a May 12 court date.
