Violent Drugs Suspect Hits Cops During Arrest in Maidstone
A suspected drug dealer went on the attack after police tried to arrest him in Maidstone. The 18-year-old man, charged with dealing heroin and crack cocaine, reportedly punched and kicked two officers before being hauled into custody.
Suspect Fails to Stay Calm
Plainclothes officers spotted a man acting suspiciously in Romney Place at 1.15pm on Thursday, 4 July 2019. When they moved in, he fiercely resisted arrest.
“He punched and kicked both officers,” police confirmed. One officer needed hospital treatment after the violent scuffle.
Drugs, Knife Seized in Bust
After finally restraining the suspect, a search revealed a knife and 41 wraps of suspected heroin and crack cocaine. The drugs are believed to be destined for local streets.
Man Charged, Facing Court
Rakeem Williams, 18, from Hodson Road, Swinton, Manchester, faces multiple charges including assaulting police, possession of an offensive weapon, and two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Williams was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 6 July.
