Hit-and-Run Driver Stabs Motorist After Crash in Larkfield
A motorist was stabbed in the arm after a collision in Larkfield — and the attacker has now been locked up for ten years.
Crash Turns Violent
On 23 November 2020, a man in his 20s was driving down New Hythe Lane when his car collided with an Audi. The Audi driver and his passenger, David Abraham, didn’t stop. The victim followed the Audi, trying to exchange insurance details.
The Audi pulled into a building site on Mill Lane, Maidstone. The victim parked alongside it and got out. Abraham then jumped out of the Audi and stabbed the man in the upper arm.
Knife-Wielding Attacker Caught
While the victim sought help from passers-by, Abraham and his driver sped off. Kent Police later found the Audi in Shooters Hill, Greenwich, and arrested Abraham the same day.
Abraham, 20, from Aylesford, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in public. He denied the charges but was convicted after a six-day trial at Maidstone Crown Court in July 2021.
Ten Years Behind Bars for Stabbing
On 3 November, Abraham was sentenced to ten years’ imprisonment, starting in a young offenders’ institution.
“This was a senseless and cowardly attack on a man who merely wanted to exchange details following a road traffic collision,” said Detective Constable Shelley Rainer.
“The victim suffered a serious injury from a man who showed he is a danger by carrying and using a knife. Kent will be safer with Abraham behind bars.”
