Two suspects have been charged with a series of mobile phone robberies around Kent – UKNIP

The two 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were charged after an investigation by the Kent Crime Squad.

Both are charged with three counts of robbery; one in Gravesend on 6 July, one in Rochester on the same day, and one in Aylesham on 9 July.

Both teenagers are also charged with attempted robbery in relation to another offence in Rochester, also on 6 July.

All of the charges relate to incidents where victims were approached and threatened with violence if they did not hand over their mobile phones. In the final offence, a bank card and watch were also stolen.

Both suspects appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 11 July and were bailed. One will appear before Margate Youth Court on 8 August and the other will appear before Coventry Youth Court on 17 August.
