Chaos Erupts Over Knife and Gunshot Claims
The Metropolitan Police rushed to the scene after reports of youths armed with a knife and a gunshot being fired. While initial fear centred on gun violence, officers found two injured victims — one with a head wound and the other hurt in the hand. Crucially, none had been shot.
Hospitalised but Stable as Police Make Arrests

Met Police Statement and Ongoing Inquiry
Police were called at about 18:35 hrs on Tuesday, 30 July to reports of a gunshot heard and a group of youths in possession of a knife on Gilbert Street at the junction with Oxford Street, W1,” the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
“Two people were taken to hospital for treatment to a head and hand injury. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Neither was shot. They have both been arrested. A knife was recovered at the scene. A third person has also been arrested. Enquiries continue.”
The investigation continues, and officers urge any witnesses or those with information to come forward immediately. Central London remains on alert as police probe the incident.
