Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre Reopens After Chemical Leak – UKNIP

Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre in Bexleyheath has reopened after a temporary closure due to a chemical leak in the plant room of the building.

At 10 am today (July 18), the London Fire Brigade responded to a call regarding a chemical leak at the leisure centre. As a precautionary measure, the building was evacuated, and London Fire Brigade conducted investigations that revealed a chlorine leak in the plant room.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were also present at the scene to ensure the safety of individuals.

By approximately 12:20 pm, the incident was brought under control, and London Fire Brigade left the premises. Following the incident, Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre and Bexley Council posted on social media, confirming the temporary closure and advising people not to attend the centre until further notice.

In a tweet, the London Borough of Bexley stated, “Crook Log Leisure Centre is temporarily closed; please do not attend the centre at this time. We will let you know when the centre has re-opened. We apologize for the inconvenience caused.”

The centre reopened at around 1 pm today, as confirmed by a Facebook post from Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre. The post expressed gratitude for everyone’s patience and understanding during the closure and acknowledged the efforts of the teams involved. A special thank you was extended to the London Fire Brigade for their assistance.
