Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre has bounced back after a nerve-wracking chemical leak forced a temporary shutdown.

Fire Brigade Rushes to Scene After Chemical Alarm

At 10 am on July 18, the London Fire Brigade responded to a call about a chemical leak in the leisure centre’s plant room. A chlorine leak was confirmed, prompting an immediate evacuation to keep visitors safe.

London Ambulance Service paramedics were also on site to handle any emergencies.

Centre Reopens After Quick Emergency Response

The situation was under control by 12:20 pm, with fire crews leaving shortly after. Bexley Council quickly warned locals not to visit during the closure via social media.

“Crook Log Leisure Centre is temporarily closed; please do not attend the centre at this time. We will let you know when the centre has re-opened. We apologise for the inconvenience caused,” said the London Borough of Bexley in a tweet.

By 1 pm, Bexleyheath Crook Log Leisure Centre was back in business, thanking everyone for their patience and praising the London Fire Brigade for their swift assistance.
