Christmas Eve Blaze Rips Through Sandgate Home

Eight fire engines and water carriers rushed to a blazing property on Sunnyside Road, Sandgate, near Folkestone on Christmas Eve.

Massive Fire Response From Kent Fire and Rescue

The alarm was raised just after 5pm on December 24th. Around 40 firefighters and officers hosed down the flames, battling the inferno with a relay water system due to low pressure in the area. A water carrier helped shuttle water to the scene.

Road Closures and Safety Warnings Issued

A road closure is in place to aid firefighting efforts. Locals are urged to avoid the area and keep windows and doors shut to block out smoke.

Cause of Blaze Under Investigation

The origin of the fire remains unknown. Kent Fire and Rescue urged residents:

“People living or working nearby are advised to close windows and doors as a precaution, due to smoke coming from the incident. Please share this advice with anyone in the affected area who might not have access to the internet. Thank you.”
