Teen Murder Suspect Nabbed at Gatwick
A 16-year-old boy was arrested as he entered the UK through Gatwick Airport on the evening of Thursday, 29 December. He was taken to a south London police station, where he remains in custody.
Second Teen Arrested Then Bailed
Earlier, on Tuesday, 27 December, another 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been bailed. He is due to return for questioning in late January as the investigation continues.
Tragic Stabbing in EC1 Leaves One Dead
The horror unfolded at 10:33pm on Tuesday, 20 December, when police rushed to Seward Street, EC1, after reports of a stabbing. Officers found two teenage boys, both 16, suffering stab wounds.
- Emergency first aid was given by officers before paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance crew arrived.
- Tragically, one boy, named as Jamaly Samba Baibu, was pronounced dead at the scene.
- The other boy was taken to an East London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Specialist officers are supporting Jamaly’s family through this devastating time.
Ongoing Murder Investigation
The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the probe. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
