Gardaí Smash Ballymun Drug Den Netting €149k Worth of Cocaine and Heroin
The Gardaí have dealt a major blow to drug dealers in North Dublin, seizing an eye-watering €149,100 worth of illegal substances in Ballymun.
Major Haul in Ballymun Drug Raid
In a dawn raid on Tuesday, April 15th, the Ballymun Divisional Drugs Unit, backed by the Armed Support Unit, Ballymun Detective Unit, and Community Response Team, swooped on a local premises suspected of storing and selling controlled drugs.
€87,500 in Heroin and €61,600 in Cocaine Busted
Officers uncovered approximately €87,500 worth of suspected heroin and around €61,600 worth of suspected cocaine at the scene, marking one of the biggest recent drug busts in the DMR North region.
Suspect Arrested and Held Under Drug Trafficking Laws
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene. He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda station in North Dublin as investigations continue.
A Garda spokesperson said, “Investigations into the seizure are ongoing.”
