Man Dies After Medical Emergency on Platform
A man has died following a sudden medical emergency at Canning Town DLR station on Monday evening, British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed.
Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 7:30pm on 24 February after reports of a passenger collapsing. Paramedics battled to save him, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the station.
Police Confirm Non-Suspicious Death
BTP released a statement: “Officers were called to Canning Town DLR shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (24 February) to reports of a medical emergency. Paramedics also attended; however, sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The man’s identity remains undisclosed as his next of kin are being informed.
DLR Services Disrupted But Now Restored
DLR services were temporarily disrupted during the emergency response but returned to normal later that evening.
The coroner will carry out a formal investigation into the man’s death.
