Christmas Eve Blaze Rips Through Sandgate Home
Eight fire engines and water carriers were rushed to a fierce blaze devouring a property on Sunnyside Road, Sandgate, near Folkestone, just after 5pm on Christmas Eve.
Forty Firefighters Battle Intense Flames
Kent Fire and Rescue dispatched 40 firefighters and officers who have been battling the fire non-stop. Due to low water pressure in the area, crews are using a relay system with a water carrier to keep the hoses pumping and tackle the inferno.
Road Closures and Safety Warnings in Place

Cause of Fire Still Unknown
A Kent Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance at a house fire in Sunnyside Road, Sandgate, Folkestone. Eight fire engines and a bulk water carrier are on the scene working to extinguish the fire.”
They added: “People living or working nearby should close windows and doors as a precaution due to smoke from the incident. Please share this advice with anyone in the area who might not have internet access.”
