Two Brazen Criminals Are Now Starting Prison Sentences After A Sustained Attack On A Man Which Left Him With Serious Injuries

Brutal Daylight Attack Lands Two Men in Prison

Carlo Giacomini, 42, from Bank Top, Earsdon, and Aiden Inskip, 54, of Blackhill Avenue, Wallsend, have been locked up for a combined seven years after savagely assaulting a man last December.

Armed Attack in Broad Daylight

The duo drove to a Falmouth Road address in North Shields on December 19, with Giacomini wielding a baseball bat. Alongside a third man, they launched a vicious five-minute attack on their 41-year-old victim, who sustained a broken nose and fractured vertebrae.

CCTV Evidence Leads to Swift Arrests

Police acted fast, retrieving CCTV footage from the scene that quickly identified Giacomini and Inskip. Both were arrested the same day and charged within 24 hours with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Giacomini also faced a charge for possession of an offensive weapon.

Judge Sends Brutal Attackers Down

Facing Newcastle Crown Court on January 18, the overwhelming evidence forced both men to plead guilty. Last Tuesday (April 18), they were each sentenced to three-and-a-half years behind bars.

“The brazenness of this pair cannot be overstated. They attacked a man in a busy area, in daylight, without hiding their identities — wearing clothes branded with their workplace,” said Detective Constable Philip Nelson.

“Thanks to quick police work and clear CCTV footage, they had no choice but to admit their crimes. We hope this sentence brings the victim some closure after such a callous attack.”

“Our message is simple: violence is never the answer. We will keep hunting down offenders and putting them before the courts.”
