A man has been taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police after a 32-year-old woman was tragically stabbed to death in a residential property on Parbury Road, Lewisham.
At approximately 4.38am, a 38-year-old man voluntarily presented himself at a police station, confessing to having harmed a woman at an address on Parbury Road. Subsequently, officers proceeded to the mentioned property where they discovered the lifeless body of the 32-year-old victim.
The man was promptly apprehended on suspicion of murder and, as a precautionary measure, has been transported to the hospital. Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb expressed his condolences, acknowledging the profound impact this tragic incident has had on the victim’s family.
While the community may be understandably shocked by this event, Det Ch Insp Matt Webb assured residents that there is no immediate threat to public safety. He further clarified that the police are not actively seeking any other individuals in connection with the murder.
