Thieves Smash Wall in Bold But Failed Raid

Late-night crooks made a daring but failed attempt to steal a cash machine from Asda on Strood High Street. Around 12.30am on Monday 3 February 2020, Kent Police were scrambled after reports of a break-in.

Loud Bangs Heard Hours Before Police Arrival

Officers found a damaged wall beside the cash machine, smashed to get into the room housing the ATM. No cash or goods were taken. Locals reported hearing loud banging noises from as early as 11pm the previous night.

Police Hunt Suspects, Seek Witnesses

Detectives from Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are digging for leads. They want anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to come forward.
