Driver Stopped in Dover with License Expired Since 1981

Kent Roads Policing Unit (RPU) officers made a significant stop in Dover after discovering a driver whose license had expired more than four decades ago.

The incident occurred during routine patrols in the area, where officers stopped a vehicle and conducted checks on the driver’s credentials. They uncovered that the driver’s license had expired in 1981 and that the individual had previously been disqualified for drink driving.

Enforcement Action

As a result of the stop, the driver was issued a Traffic Offense Report (TOR), and the vehicle was seized on the spot.

The Kent Roads Policing Unit took to social media to highlight the case, posting:

“#RPU3 Officers on patrol in the Dover area stopped this vehicle and established that the driver’s licence expired in 1981, having previously been disqualified for drink driving. TOR issued and vehicle seized. #NiceStop #BeaknLinc”

Safety Reminder

The Kent RPU emphasized the importance of regular license checks and adhering to driving regulations. Unlicensed or disqualified drivers pose a significant risk to road safety.

This proactive action underscores the ongoing efforts by Kent Police to ensure the safety of road users and uphold the law.
