Brixton Man Jailed for Peddling Crack and Heroin
Charles Ogunnowo, 27, from Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, was locked up after cops caught him red-handed with a stash of crack cocaine and heroin. He faced Lewes Crown Court on 19 October, charged with possession of crack and heroin with intent to supply, plus possession of criminal property.
Undercover Sting Leads to Arrest
On 8 October 2019, plain-clothes officers spotted what they suspected was a drug deal on Western Road. They stopped Ogunnowo and found a significant haul of Class A drugs on him. A search of his hotel room uncovered even more heroin, crack cocaine, and cash.
Ogunnowo Pleads Guilty and Gets Jail Time
Ogunnowo first denied the charges but later admitted guilt on all counts. The court sentenced him to two years and eight months behind bars.
“We absolutely do not tolerate drug dealing in our city and work tirelessly to identify and hold to account those involved in supplying these harmful substances,” said Detective Inspector Dee Wells. “Our priority is keeping our city safe and feeling safe. We would urge anyone with information or concerns about drug dealing to report it to us online or by calling 101.”
