Six Fire Engines Deployed to Warehouse Fire on Fraser Road
Fire crews tackled a large fire at an industrial unit in Erith last night, as flames engulfed stacks of wooden pallets within a warehouse.
Emergency Response
The London Fire Brigade was alerted at 10:17 PM on Wednesday, 26 February, after receiving four emergency calls reporting the fire at Fraser Road, Erith.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were quickly mobilised, with crews dispatched from Erith, Bexley, and Plumstead fire stations.
Extent of the Fire
Upon arrival, firefighters found part of a 10x3x2 metre area of wooden pallets inside the warehouse ablaze.
The intense fire threatened to spread further, but firefighters worked quickly to contain the flames.
Incident Brought Under Control
After nearly three hours of firefighting, the fire was finally under control by 1:01 AM on Thursday, 27 February.
Investigation Underway
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is now underway to determine how the blaze started.
