Three school pupils attacked and two stabbed in shocking South Ockendon park stabbing
A quiet community has been left reeling after three school pupils were viciously attacked at Bonnygate Park, just over the East London border in South Ockendon. Two of the youngsters suffered stab wounds in the brutal assault on Thursday afternoon.
Stabbing Shakes Pupils Leaving Two Seriously Injured
The assault happened around 4.20pm on Thursday, 20 March, shortly after the school day ended. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and found three injured teens, two having sustained stab wounds. All were rushed to hospital. Thankfully, none are believed to be fighting for their lives.
Victims Confirmed as Harris Academy Students
The victims are pupils from nearby Harris Academy Ockendon secondary school and sixth form, just a five-minute walk from the park.
“All of us in the academy are shocked by this incident and our thoughts are very much with our three students who were hurt on their way home from school. We are supporting them and their families in every way we can,” a school spokesperson said.
“Thankfully, the emergency services responded promptly. We are grateful to Essex Police for being so visible in the community since yesterday, helping everyone feel safe and reassured.”
Essex Police Hunt Attackers – No Arrests Yet
Essex Police have launched an active investigation but have yet to make any arrests. Officers described the event as a “serious incident” and have stepped up patrols in the area to calm fears and prevent any further violence.
Authorities have promised to deliver further updates as the inquiry continues.
Community Demands More Safety as Panic Grows
Locals, especially parents, are alarmed by the attack and are demanding tougher safety measures for children travelling to and from school.
