A terrifying house fire broke out early this morning on Belgrave Avenue, Romford, forcing residents to escape through windows to flee the flames.

The London Fire Brigade raced to the scene just after 5am following reports of a fire raging in the front room of a property. Witnesses watched in alarm as thick plumes of smoke spewed from the front of the house.
Inside, terrified residents were forced to climb out through a window to get away from the growing inferno before firefighters could break in.
