M3 Westbound Shut After Horror Crash Near Hook
The M3 westbound has been slammed shut between Junction 4A and Junction 5 near Hook and Minley following a serious collision tonight.
Full Closure and Police Investigation Underway
Police have sealed off all three lanes of the westbound carriageway. Barrier tape also blocks the Motorway Service link bridge connecting east and westbound service areas. The westbound service area itself is closed to the public.
Several Hampshire Road Policing units and crash investigators are at the scene, examining a silver hatchback with heavy front-end and windscreen damage.
Massive Diversion In Place
Drivers face a long reroute. A diversion runs via the A327 northbound, then onto the A30 eastbound and the B3349 southbound. Motorists must exit the M3 at Junction 4A and rejoin at Junction 5, following solid black triangle signs.
When Will the M3 Reopen?
Police warn the motorway won’t reopen until at least 4:30am Friday morning as investigators comb the crash site.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead and allow extra journey time. Stay tuned for updates as we follow this developing story.
