A dramatic rescue unfolded in West Wight on Thursday evening after a woman suffered a severe allergic reaction and plunged down the cliffs at Compton Bay. Emergency services swung into action just before 7pm, mobilising two Coastguard Rescue Teams from Ventnor and Needles.
Helicopter and Fire Crews Join The Effort
The Coastguard Helicopter was scrambled to the scene to airlift the woman to hospital. The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service also deployed a Co-responder alongside ambulance crews to provide urgent medical support at the cliff base.
Victim Now Stable After Emergency Treatment
Following treatment by hospital doctors, the woman is reported to be stable and making a steady recovery. The swift response from multiple emergency teams was praised for saving her life.
