Coastguard Helicopter called after Woman has an allergic reaction and Collapses at Bottom of Cliffs in the West Wight

A major rescue operation has taken place in the West Wight this evening involving two coastguard search and rescue teams and Coastguard Helicopter and the Isle of Wight Fire and rescue service and Co-responders. The woman was airlifted to hospital after having an allergic reaction and falling down cliffs in Compton Bay. CRT teams from both Ventnor and Needles were mobilised just before 7pm on Thursday evening. The emergency crews recovered the woman who was then flown to by the coastguard helicopter to the hospital. An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service Coresponder was also sent by Isle of Wight ambulance service. The woman is said to stable and making a steady recovery following treatment by doctors at the hospital.
