Grandad Killed in Horror Crash Outside Cheshire School
An 86-year-old grandad died after a devastating smash with a Lamborghini right outside a primary school in Cheshire.
David Ward was behind the wheel of his red Vauxhall Viva on Crewe Road, Sandbach, when tragedy struck around 10am on Tuesday. Emergency crews rushed to the scene but could not save him.
Fatal Medical Episode, Not Crash, Claims Life
Police revealed Mr Ward suffered a fatal medical episode at the time of the collision. Investigations confirmed his death was caused by natural health issues, not the accident itself.
The crash involved a sleek black Lamborghini and Mr Ward’s humble Vauxhall Viva. Paramedics confirmed the grandfather’s passing at the scene.
Family Mourn Devoted Husband and Grandfather
“David was a devoted husband to Christine, a proud father of four, and a loving grandfather to seven,” the family said. “He showed his love not through grand gestures, but through steady support, quiet wisdom, and warm kindness and humour.”
“He enjoyed simple, peaceful moments — fishing by the water, tending his garden, walking familiar paths, and cycling with ease and freedom.”
Community Stunned After Crash Near School
The horrific event unfolded right outside a local primary school, leaving the community shaken and concerned about safety on Crewe Road.
Police are providing support to the family and are reviewing road safety measures in the area to prevent future tragedies.
