Teen Charged After Stolen Fiat 500 Nabbed by Kent Police
A 19-year-old man has been slammed with multiple charges, including vehicle theft, after Kent Police acted fast to recover a stolen car in Northfleet.
Stolen Fiat 500 Spotted and Seized in Northfleet
Police spotted a suspicious Fiat 500 cruising Station Road, Northfleet, just before 11 AM on Saturday, February 8.
They soon discovered the vehicle had been stolen from Bexley. After tracking it down to Rose Street, Northfleet, officers swooped and recovered the motor.
Ben Gardiner Arrested and Hit with Multiple Charges
The very next day, Sunday, February 9, Ben Gardiner, 19, from Wallis Park, Northfleet, was arrested over the stolen Fiat.
Gardiner now faces charges for:
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Theft from a shop (unrelated incident)
- Handling a stolen car
Court Drama: Remanded and Awaiting Woolwich Crown Court
Gardiner appeared at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 10, where he was remanded in custody.
He is due back at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday, March 10.
Kent Police confirmed investigations are ongoing but revealed no further details.
