Two passers-by rushed to the scene, but quickly found themselves bogged down too. Staying calm, they reassured the frantic mum while someone called 999 for emergency help.

Heroic Rescue Team Pulls Family from the Mire

Whitby Coastguard and North Yorkshire Fire crews raced to the muddy chaos. Armed with a spade, plank, and a fisherman’s sign, they carefully dug out the trapped pair. The toddler was freed first, followed by her mum. Both were safe and sound after a tense 30 minutes.

“They’re real-life heroes who literally saved my life and my daughter’s life,” the thankful mum said. She praised the emergency crews’ bravery and kindness throughout the ordeal.
