£80k Worth of Coke Stashed in Kitchen Cupboard

Benjamin Hurley, 34, from Newsham Close, Widnes, has been handed a hefty six years and eight months behind bars. Police uncovered nearly £80,000 of cocaine hidden in his kitchen cupboard during a raid.

County Lines Crackdown Nets Big Drug Bust

The sentencing took place at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Hurley had already admitted to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property. The police swooped on March 4 as part of a targeted County Lines Intensification Week of action.

Hurley Offers to Help Officers Find the Goods

Officers found Hurley in his bedroom and told him they were investigating drug distribution in the area. He immediately told them to arrest him, claiming they’d find “cash and gear” tucked away downstairs. Sure enough, a search revealed around 810g of cocaine packed in plastic bags and even hidden inside a powdered baby milk tin. Police also seized digital scales, Hurley’s passport, almost £32,000 in cash, designer clothes and watches, four vehicles, and a customer list.

Drug Dealing Was Hurley’s Main Income

“Selling drugs was my main source of income,” Hurley confessed at the start of his custody interview. He admitted the seized drugs were a mix of cocaine and cutting agents and pleaded guilty straight away.

With the evidence stacked high, the judge gave Hurley a hefty jail term, sending a clear message to county lines dealers operating in the region.
