Members of the public are being invited to discover more about the work of Nottinghamshire Search & Rescue Team (NSART) at an open evening in Mansfield next month.
The volunteer organisation will hold the event at Portland College, Mansfield, NG18 2HJ, at 8pm on Thursday, 17 September.
NSART provides a voluntary search and rescue capability across Nottinghamshire 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with volunteers helping to search for vulnerable missing people.
The open evening will give visitors the opportunity to meet members of the team and learn what happens when volunteers are deployed on a search operation.
Those interested in joining NSART will also be able to learn about the different roles available, what is expected of volunteers and the training and commitment involved.
The team said: “We’d love to meet you – bring your questions and find out if volunteering with NSART is right for you.”
NSART relies on donations and grants to support its work, while its members voluntarily give their time to assist searches and help communities across Nottinghamshire.
The open evening takes place at 8pm on Thursday, 17 September, at Portland College in Mansfield.
