An 18-year-old arrested after a massive fire tore through a block of flats in Shanklin this February is no longer a suspect. The teenager was taken in by police amid an intense arson investigation following the early morning inferno.

Blaze Devastates Flats, Leaves Families Homeless

The fire broke out in the early hours on Avenue 1, ripping through the property. Around 40 firefighters battled the flames through the night, using specialist aerial ladder platforms to bring it under control.

Seven residents required medical attention, with some left homeless after the devastating blaze.

Another Man Remains on Bail Over Arson

A 39-year-old man, reportedly treated for smoke inhalation, is still on bail as police continue their investigation into the suspected arson attack.
