An 80-year-old woman was targeted in a shocking daylight robbery on Brondesbury Road at 1.10pm last Sunday, 30 May.
Thug Snatches Handbag, Flees in Getaway Car
The victim clung desperately to her handbag as a man tried to snatch it from her shoulder. She held on until the strap snapped. The thief then bolted, making off with the bag towards Christchurch Avenue. He jumped into a blue car driven by two men, joined by a teenage boy.
Police Hunt Trio and Teen Using Stolen Bank Cards
Detectives have released CCTV images of three men caught on camera inside two shops on Church Road, NW10, where the stolen bank cards from the handbag were used. A teenage boy was spotted both at the robbery scene and in the shops with them.
“This was a cowardly crime committed against an innocent woman who was just going about her day,” said Detective Constable Goran Divkovic from Brent policing team.
“Although she escaped serious injury, the trauma goes far beyond the loss of cash and personal items, including some of deep sentimental value. We urge anyone who can ID these men to come forward immediately.”
