Three Men Stuck in Ryde Harbour Mud – Dramatic Rescue Underway

Emergency crews raced to Ryde harbour this afternoon after three men got trapped in thick mud just after 1pm.

Firefighters and Specialists Join Rescue

Fire teams from Ryde and Newport were first on the scene. A specialist rescue tender from Newport was also called in to help reach the stranded men.

So far, firefighters have pulled two of the trio to safety. One man suffered a painful back injury after struggling in the mud.

Local Care Home Trio in Peril

The three men are believed to be residents of a nearby care home. Reports say carers bravely entered the mud to assist before emergency services arrived.

Coastguard Teams Rush to Rescue

Two UK Coastguard search and rescue teams from Bembridge and Ventnor were also dispatched to support the operation.
