A major emergency response has been sent to Hursley Park Cricket Club in Hampshire after reports of flames coming from the roof of a building.

Fire crews were mobilised to Hursley Park Cricket Club, The Quarters, Hursley Park Road, Hursley,  late on Saturday night, August 8.

Ten fire engines sent to the scene

The response was rapidly increased as firefighters dealt with the developing blaze.

A subsequent assistance message indicated that 10 pumping appliances were requested as additional firefighters and water supplies were required at the incident.

Multiple appliances and specialist resources have been assigned to the scene, including a command appliance and a light rescue pump from across Hampshire

Fire Crews where called shortly after 11.14pm, with further mobilisation as the response was escalated.

The extent of the damage is not yet known, and there has been no confirmed information about any injuries.

Hursley Park Cricket Club is situated on Hursley Park Road, south-west of Winchester and north of Southampton.

With a significant number of emergency vehicles responding, people in the area should allow crews space to work.
