Tragic Fire in Bethnal Green Claims One Life
A person has died following a devastating fire on Ellsworth Street, Bethnal Green, in the early hours of Monday morning.
Firefighters Battled Extreme Conditions
Fire crews rushed to the scene just before 4am after receiving calls reporting someone trapped inside the property. Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters braved extremely tough conditions to enter the blaze-hit home and recover the individual.
Despite their efforts, the person was pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics.
Property Severely Damaged, Cause Under Investigation
The fire badly damaged the property. Four fire engines and around 30 firefighters and officers were deployed to tackle the blaze and conduct a thorough search.
The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
