Early this morning, panic erupted at Brighton Marina when emergency services were scrambled following a distress call. Multiple units from the South Central Ambulance Service (SECamb) and coastguard crews from Newhaven and Shoreham raced to the scene, underlining the gravity of the incident.
Heartbreaking Outcome Despite Rapid Rescue Efforts
A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed: “After a call reporting a medical emergency at Brighton Marina at around 9am on Sunday, February 25, emergency teams arrived swiftly. Despite paramedics’ valiant efforts, a 36-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
Coastguard Joins Ambulance and Police Teams
HM Coastguard added: “We were called in to support the ambulance service at Brighton Marina. Rescue teams from Shoreham and Newhaven were on hand along with South Central Ambulance Service and Sussex Police.”
