Drama Unfolds at Margate Block of Flats as Police and Fire Crews Descend
A tense stand-off is gripping Sweyn Road in Cliftonville, Margate, this morning after threats were made by an individual inside a block of flats.

Since 9 a.m., the area has been sealed off with a heavy emergency presence. Three police cars and two fire engines from Kent Fire and Rescue are on site, working together to manage the situation.

“Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been called to assist Kent Police at a block of flats in Sweyn Road. Two fire engines have been sent to the scene,” said a Kent Fire spokesperson.
“Officers, along with other emergency services, have been in attendance following threats made by a person inside the property. A cordon has been set up as a precaution while officers deal with the incident,” confirmed a police spokesperson.
