Arson Horror in Rochdale: Family and Kids Injured in Suspected Deliberate Fire
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are hunting for witnesses after a suspected arson attack on Halifax Road, Rochdale, sent shockwaves through the community. The blaze erupted around 8:30pm on Wednesday, 4 September, injuring five people, including three children. Thankfully, none of the injuries are life-threatening or life-changing.
Investigation Underway as Police Seek Crucial Witnesses
Early findings suggest the fire was deliberately started, but no arrests have been made yet. Police are actively investigating and urging anyone who was nearby or saw suspicious activity to come forward. “Were you in the area last night and noticed something odd? Even the smallest detail could be vital,” said Detective Inspector Katie Buntine.

DI Buntine condemned the fire as “disturbing” and confirmed officers will stay on scene to reassure the community and dig deeper into the case. She also called on drivers, including taxi and bus operators, to check their dashcams for any footage that could help identify the culprits.
“We’re determined to find those responsible for this reckless behaviour and ensure they face justice,” DI Buntine added.
