Grim Assault Shakes Wiltshire Village – Woman Hospitalised, Man Arrested
Serious Attack Rocks Newnham Road
At 11.10am, police rushed to Newnham Road following reports of a serious assault. A woman suffered head injuries and was swiftly taken to hospital.
Thankfully, her injuries are not life-threatening.
Suspect Arrested and Also Hospitalised
A man was arrested at the scene and is currently receiving hospital treatment. Authorities revealed the two parties knew each other, easing fears of a wider threat.
“The two parties involved are known to one another, and there is no wider risk to the public,” confirmed a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson.
“Officers remain on the scene and continue their investigation.”
Road Reopens After Police Closure
Newnham Road was temporarily shut by police but has since reopened as emergency services wrapped up their work.
