Greedy Scammers Swipe £9,500 from Odiham OAPs in Shocking Fraud

A heartless con has ripped off an elderly Odiham couple out of a whopping £9,500 after posing as police officers. The shocking scam took place on Friday, 5 May, when the 69-year-old woman and her 79-year-old husband were duped by cold-hearted fraudsters.

Scam Callers Pretend to be Met Police

The couple received a phone call from scammers pretending to be from the Metropolitan Police. The fake officers claimed they were investigating a bank fraud linked to the victims’ accounts. They alarmed the pair by saying a courier would arrive to collect cash for the ongoing “investigation.”

At around 4pm the same day, a man showed up at their address and collected the £9,500 cash.

  • Black, mid-20s
  • 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall
  • Slim build
  • Short black hair
