Man in His 40s Assaulted in Shocking Southampton Attack

Police are hunting witnesses after a brutal assault in Southampton yesterday evening.

Spat At, Then Chased and Attacked

Between 5pm and 5.30pm on 23 September, a man in his 40s was spat at while passing a bus stop on Vincents Walk. The attacker didn’t stop there. He chased the victim to outside Bella Italia in Hanover Buildings and punched him repeatedly.

The victim suffered head injuries and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

Suspect Arrested and in Custody

A 44-year-old Southampton man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
