At 11:40 a.m. on Monday, emergency services were called to a farm in Rowner Road, Billingshurst, after a woman was seen in a field.
The woman, 55, died at the scene, and her next-of-kin have been notified.
Sussex Police is asking witnesses to come forward and assist detectives with their investigations.
