A child has tragically died following a collision involving a vehicle and two children on a rugby pitch in Kendal.
Emergency services rushed to Kendal Rugby Union Football Club on Shap Road at approximately 5 PM today after reports of an incident involving a black BMW i40 on the field.

Police Investigation Underway
Authorities have confirmed that one child has sadly died, while the second child is currently receiving medical treatment from paramedics. The immediate families of both children have been informed, and specialist investigators are now examining the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Appeal for Witnesses
Police are treating the incident as isolated and have stated that there is no indication of a terror-related motive. A cordon remains in place at the rugby club while forensic teams conduct their investigation.
