Tragic Late-Night Crash on Sheppey Claims Woman’s Life

Disaster struck on Sheppey late Friday when a deadly collision killed a woman in her 30s. The smash happened at around 11:20pm on 30 January 2026, involving a grey Kia and a BMW on the A249 northbound.

One Dead, Three Seriously Injured

Emergency crews including kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance, and Kent Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene. The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the spot and her family has been notified.

Three others remain hurt: a woman is critical in hospital, while two men are in serious but stable condition.

A249 Reopened After Overnight Closure

The A249 was closed overnight as investigators combed the scene but reopened by 8am the next day. Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the probe.
