Nottinghamshire Police Pledge Support to Muslim Communities This Ramadan

Police Stand Strong During Ramadan

Chief Superintendent Suk Verma has vowed Nottinghamshire Police will keep Muslim communities safe throughout Ramadan. “We work closely with our Muslim communities to ensure they feel safe at all times,” Verma said.

“Ramadan is a special, important time. We support the community so this blessed period is free from fear or distress.”

Community Engagement and Zero Tolerance on Hate Crime

Officers are actively engaging with local mosques and their leaders across the county. “We’re here if anyone has concerns, no matter how small,” said Verma.

He added a firm warning: “We police without fear or favour. Anyone jeopardising community safety will be dealt with robustly. We take zero tolerance on hate crime and won’t tolerate any such incidents.”

Ramadan Mubarak from Nottinghamshire Police

“I’d like to wish Ramadan Mubarak to all participating, including some of our own officers,” Verma said.

If you witness or are a victim of hate crime, contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or report online at nottinghamshire.police.uk. Always call 999 in an emergency.
