Man Jailed Over Shocking Sexual Crimes Against Teen Girls

Jody Hawkins, 41, has been locked up for two years and four months after admitting to a string of horrific offences. The Bristol man pleaded guilty to seven charges, including forcing a child to watch him perform a sexual act and exposing himself in a women’s toilet block. The sentence was handed down at Bristol Crown Court on June 29.

Disturbing Incidents Involve Multiple Victims

Police first caught wind of Hawkins in May last year. He engaged a teenage girl in a sex chat and pressured her to perform a sexual act while playing a porn video featuring himself. Thankfully, the girl refused and reported him to police.

Things got worse in October. Hawkins was caught exposing himself in a female toilet block in Keynsham, shocking one woman. Not long after, he flashed another woman and showed her an indecent photo of himself. That same evening, he targeted two 16-year-olds, trying to chat them up sexually and send the explicit photo.

Guilty Pleas and Tough Sentencing

Hawkins admitted to several disturbing offences, including inciting children to sexual activity, causing a child to watch a sexual act, indecent exposure, and intentionally causing fear and distress. He will face further sentencing on harassment charges at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on July 5.

Besides his jail term, Hawkins received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a restraining order barring him from contacting his victims. The court praised the bravery of the victims and hopes the sentence brings them peace.

Police Praise Victims and Community for Courage

“We commend the victims for their immense strength and courage,” said Detective Constable Heather McGowan. “Thanks also to Keynsham locals who came forward with crucial info. We encourage all victims of sexual offences to come forward – you will be believed and supported.”

The investigation was backed by the Crown Prosecution Service and trial barristers, ensuring Hawkins was brought to justice.
