A man has been taken to hospital following an incident on Lambeth Bridge in south London earlier today.
Concerns for the man’s welfare were raised just after 8am, prompting a swift response from officers and London Ambulance Service crews. The man received treatment at the scene before being transported to the hospital for further care.
As the situation unfolded, Lambeth Bridge was temporarily closed to traffic and pedestrians. The bridge was reopened shortly after 9am once the incident had been resolved.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “The bridge was closed this morning due to concerns for the welfare of a man. He was taken to hospital and the bridge was reopened around 9am.”
The Metropolitan Police also issued a statement, confirming the details of the incident and the bridge’s closure and subsequent reopening.
