High-Speed Chase Ends in Tree Trunk Hiding Spot
The crooks used a stolen car to flee the scene. When spotted near York, they kicked off a terrifying high-speed police chase, putting lives at serious risk on busy roads. The chase ended at York Designer Outlet when the gang crashed and bolted into the countryside. But their luck ran out quickly—police choppers spotted them hiding inside a tree trunk. Officers swooped in and arrested them on foot.
Sentences Handed Down
- Frederick Squires, from Castleacre Road, Swaffham, Norfolk, got 8 years and 6 months behind bars and a driving ban of 7 years and 3 months.
- The 16-year-old accomplice received a two-year detention and training order.
